Oral Conscious Dental Sedation

With oral conscious sedation, Dr. Madry will prescribe a pill for you to take before your procedure is set to begin. It will put you in a relaxed state of mind, and your dental anxieties and worries should melt away. You’ll remain awake throughout your appointment, but we should have no problem performing the treatments you need. Because the sedative is so powerful and long-lasting, you’ll need someone to drive you to and from our dental office and keep an eye on you for the next several hours.

Nitrous Oxide Dental Sedation

For mild levels of dental anxiety, nitrous oxide might be ideal. We’ll place a small mask over your nose, and you’ll inhale this sedative – an odorless, colorless gas – that relaxes you within minutes. You’ll feel completely at-ease during your procedure, and we can adjust the dosage of the nitrous at any moment to keep you fully comfortable. After the mask is removed, it shouldn’t take long at all for the sedative’s effects to wear off to the point where you can resume your regular activities.
